My Experiment Results!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello, The moment most of us have been waiting for is here. After a very long experiment consisting aloe Vera extract, 95% ethanol and 70% isopropyl alcohol, I have gotten some results.
The aloe extracts did not grow any inhibition against the bacteria, but instead, some of them grew some other things around them. On the other hand, the 95% ethanol and the 70% isopropyl ethanol did grow beautifully zone of inhibitions against most of the bacteria. Please see the images below.
What you are seeing is, the bacteria were inoculated, and then platted Aloe Vera extracts, 95% ethanol and 70% isopropyl alcohol on them. To clarify the labeling, SE: Staphylococcus epidermidis, SM: Serratia marcescens, PS: Providencia Stuarii, PM: Proteus mirablis, SA: Staphylococcus aureus, EC: Escherichia coli, EF: Enterococcus faecalis. Water is the negative control.
For future studies, the time in which the experiments were run will be changed to match what it is in the papers to see if that was the cause of error in the aloe extraction process. Also, with the respective idea that if the ethanolic aloe extract works, genome that this plant has could be studied to determine what genes play major roles in this process, and if the same genes could.
I have learned that no scientific experiments are/should be considered a "Failure". As one of my mentors always says, "It is just an excuse to do more science".
